Summer Holiday Special: Taiko Drum Performance by “Mt. Fuji Kaen Taiko”

“Mt. Fuji Kaen Taiko” is a powerful Japanese taiko drum group known for its passionate performances, reminiscent of blazing crimson flames. Every year they also perform at the famous “Yoshida Fire Festival.”

On this special day, guests can enjoy a dynamic taiko performance set against the magnificent backdrop of Mt. Fuji, and on a stage built from giant trees in the forest. Their powerful, soul-stirring sound will echo through the resort. The OKAMI — the proprietress of Hanz Outdoor Resort — will also take part in this special performance, holding the drumsticks herself.

About “Mt. Fuji Kaen Taiko”

“Mt. Fuji Kaen Taiko” is a Japanese taiko drum group based in Fujiyoshida City, Yamanashi Prefecture, active since 1985. Through powerful, soul-stirring performances, the group expresses music inspired by the nature and culture of Mt. Fuji. Alongside local events, they have given eight overseas performances, earning wide recognition in Japan and abroad. The group is a local team of around 50 members, from elementary-school students to people in their 70s, and celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2025. In 2005 they performed with CSYSA in Colorado Springs, further deepening international cultural exchange.
